Soul Work – Week Beginning 4/2/18, Three Rune Spread, “Eihwaz, Jera, & The Blank Rune” – Messages from the Runes

I’ve missed a couple weeks of Runestone readings and thought I had better get with it. I do these readings for the week before us each Monday morning as a way of highlighting the path before us. I hope the words resonate giving us a peek at the clearer path which lies ahead.

This week’s 3 runes spread reads from right to left: Eihwaz (pg. 109), Jera (pg. 117), and The Blank Rune (pg. 142) The Book of Runes, by Ralph H. Blum. I selected these Rune Stones on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Far right: The overview of the situation: Eihwaz – Defense, Avertive Powers, Yew Tree

“If there appears to be an obstacle in your path, consider that even a delay may prove beneficial. Do not be overly eager to press forward. Patience is the counsel Eihwas offers, nothing hectic, no acting needy, or lusting after a desired outcome.

Perseverance and foresight are called for here. The ability to foresee consequences before you act is a mark of the profound person.” Receiving Eihwas, you are put on notice that through inconvenience and discomfort, growth is promoted.”

Middle: Identifies the Challenge: Jera – Harvest, Fertile Season, One Year

“A Rune of beneficial outcomes, Jera applies to any activity or endeavor to which you are committed. Be aware that no quick results can be expected. A span of time is usually involved; hence the keyword, “one year,” symbolizing a full cycle before the reaping, the harvest or deliverance.

You have prepared the ground and planted the seed. Now you must cultivate with care. To those whose labor has a long season, a long coming to term, Jera offers encouragement of success. Keep Providence and continue to persevere.”

Far Left: The course of action called for: The Blank Rune – The Unknowable, The Divine Odin, the All-Father

“Blank is the end, blank the beginning. This is the Rune of total trust and should be taken as exciting evidence of your most immediate contact with your own true destiny which, time and again, rises like the phoenix from the ashes of what we call fate.

The appearance of this Rune can portend a death. But that death is usually symbolic and may relate to any part of your life as you are living it now. Relinquishing control is the ultimate challenge for the Spiritual Warrior. Here the Unknowable informs you that It is in motion in your life.

Drawing The Blank Rune may bring to the surface our deepest fears: Will I fail? Will I be abandoned? Will it all be taken away? And yet, our highest good, our truest possibilities all our fertile dreams are held within that blankness.

The Blank Rune often calls for no less an act of courage than an empty-handed leap into the void. Drawing it is a test of faith. And yet, this Rune teaches that the very debts of old karma shift and evolve as you shift and evolve. Nothing is predestined: What beckons is the creative power of the unknown. Whenever you draw the Blank Rune, take heart: Know that the work of self-change is progressing in your life.”

The Blank Rune is a subject of much debate. Evidence shows that ancient Runes did not contain a blank Rune. However, in these modern times, a blank Rune is included in each set. As a modern rune caster, I find it acceptable and have included it in my reading. Read more about the blank Rune here: Witchery.

“The three rune spread reads from right to left. The far right Rune provides the overview of the situation; the center Rune identifies the challenge, and the third Rune indicates the course of action called for.” p. 50 The Book of Runes, by Ralph H. Blum

“An oracle does not give you instruction as to what to do next, nor does it predict future events.” The Book of Runes, By Ralph H. Blum, p. 8.

Patience, courage, and faith are the keywords for this week’s soul work. I believe that as long as we are moving in a forward direction toward our goals we are becoming the best we can be. Let go of your old ways of thinking and embrace the new. The season of Spring is for renewal and rebirth. ❤

Embrace your spiritual journey!

Namaste Until next week. Namaste, and Blessed BE! ❤

Oh my gosh. So much to conquer with, where I have been at a junction for a year now, not moving either way, frozen on the spot, my mind says I should move with what used to be, yet I rebel against it, waiting, waiting, for what is the unknown. Patience has never been dominant though I recognize how important it is to all life’s process of evolving, moving forward into my destiny. I wait, but recently I do feel some little push towards newness, letting go what was and trying to walk into the direction being shown.
Excellent rune for me this week Colleen. Thank you.

    1. Helene, what amazing observations you have gleaned from the Runes. Yes, I agree with you. It is that gentle push forward that is steering us toward seeing our lives with new eyes. Let go of the old ways and forge new paths. Personally, I like the blank Rune stone as it grants me a feeling of freedom knowing that my karma is not absolute. Splendid. Thanks for your support. Hugs to you. ❤

The blank rune definitely is special, knowing that part of our life has not been written yet, there are always more discoveries and changes to come. Promising for us all.

      2. That’s funny that you noticed that. In my author bio that’s what I say about me. I’m a work in progress. We all are. If more people realized that they wouldn’t be so stressed. The Blank Rune also reminds me that my Karma doesn’t necessarily have to be bad, like most people think. Light and dark balances and things even out. I’m so glad to have you here. Thank you! ❤
